Waterford FFA - Calendar of Events

The Waterford FFA routinely conducts nearly 100 events. Not all are listed below and some are ongoing, meaning they may not have a specific date of occurence. Check this website, see Mr. Kohn, and read your FFA Newsletter carefully for details regarding each event.

Upcoming Events:

October 2nd – World Dairy Expo, Madison WI (leave 7 am from WUHS, Door 11)

October 10th – October FFA Meeting, 5:30 – Rm 209 (we will likely play bingo at a retirement home in Waterford afterwards – this is optional but makes for a great community-service opportunity).

October 13th – Highway Cleanup, 9 am at the Cotton Exchange.

October 13-14th – WIHA District 1 Horse Show

October 23rd – 27th – National FFA Convention

October 24th-27th – National Environmental Science CDE Competition

October 27th – Alumni Bonfire and Chili Dump, 7 pm at Don North’s farm

End of October – Fruit Sale Begins (concludes the Monday of the week of Thanksgiving).
Reminder that our goal is for each member to sell at least $200 of fruit. Last year we sold a total of $27,000, with our all-time high being roughly $54,000 in 2008.

November 17th - Alumni Craft Fair (at the High School)

November 18th - Plow Days, Research Farm

November –December – Speaking Contest Practices begin

December 3rd – Ice Skating w/ East Troy, Pettit Center

December 4th - Environmental Summit, Gateway

December 7th - UW College of Ag & Life Sciences Visit Day

December 8th- Beef Weigh-in, 9 AM - Swine Barn, Racine Co. Fairgrounds

Tues, 12/18 - Parli Pro Practice (Mr. Wolf)

Wed, 12/19 - All Fruit Money is Due 8 am

Wed, 12/19 - Speaking Contest Practice (Mr. Kohn)

Fri, 1/25 - Badger Hockey Game, Admiral Hockey Game (tickets are $20)

Fri, 2/1 - FFA Proficiency Applications are due: (Placement Appl., Entrepreneurship App)

Fri, 2/1 - UW-Platteville Trip (all day)

Ongoing – Lab Nights (for students who want to conduct independent research using the department laboratory and facilities – no experience necessary!). See Mr. Kohn if you wish to take part in this amazing resume-building experience!
