Your Reference List

Basic Rules:

a. The Reference List should appear at the end of your paper on a separate page.

b. Each source you cite in your paper must appear on your reference list; likewise, each source listed on your reference list should be cited in your paper.

c. Your reference page should have the label References (no quotation marks, no underlining, etc.) centered on the top of the page.

d. All entries should be double spaced. The first line starts at the left margin; any subsequent lines of information are indented 5 spaces

e. Author names are inverted (last name first); give the last name followed by the initials for all authors of a work.

f. All entries should be listed alphabetically, according to the first author's last name (or by title of publication if no author).

g. Capitalization rules: Unless it is a proper noun, capitalize only the first word of book titles, article titles, web pages, etc. For a Journal Title, Capitalize All Important Words in the Title.
